The most famous university in France is the Sorbonne University. The the College de Sorbonne was originally founded in 1257.  Among the Sorbonne's most famous students were Thomas Aquinas, Dante and Calvin.

The Sorbonne is located in the Quartier Latin near the Jardin de Luxembourg and the Pantheon.
